Squeaky Clean Financials for Your Car Wash

Everyone loves a clean car, and operating a car wash business is one way to give the people what they want while providing yourself with a decent living. There are many new tech services improving the car wash industry, and for the operators implementing changes in drying systems or chemical components, the results to the bottom line are remarkable. However, even with hands-free operation and limited labor involvement, it isn’t easy to operate successfully when looking at the financials.

The Devil Is in the Details

A good car wash will clean a vehicle, but it takes weeks of careful planning to decide on the location and the services offered. A marketing plan is needed to introduce the community to what you are offering, and you need a carefully constructed customer experience. This starts with the layout of the site, the flow of traffic, and the equipment used during cleaning.

Always Be Ready

The customer experience should be your first priority once your business is established. Your equipment needs to be in tip-top shape, as malfunctions or breakdowns can cause you to lose business and a good reputation. Working with a company that provides quality car wash repair services can help avoid downtime, but select a company that offers a preventative maintenance plan in order to reduce unscheduled repairs. These can eat into your budget and the bottom line. Train employees to spot areas of inconsistency and document repairs or replacements.

Make Strategic Investments

Preserving your cash flow means prioritizing where you spend money. Labor costs should have little to do with manning an automated tunnel, and your equipment package should be able to manage peak service hours without an attendant but with absolute consistency. You may need to put money into the equipment if you really want to boost the bottom line without long-term expenses.

With the right knowledge of the business, your car wash services can hold their own and be quite productive. Visit trade shows or speak with your suppliers for the latest in products or services.…

Organisations Founded By Sukanto Tanoto

Royal Golden Eagle is one of the top integrated, resource-based, industrial groups in the Asia Pacific region today; and it all started with, Sukanto Tanoto, the man behind its 50-year-long history and $20 billion empire.

The eldest of seven brothers, Sukanto Tanoto was born in Medan, North Sumatra. His father was an immigrant from Putian, a city located in China’s Fujian Province. Education for young Tanoto was hard to come by. In 1966, President Suharto’s regime forced Chinese schools to shut down. Tanoto was even banned from attending a national school due to his Chinese roots.

Though he went on to become a successful, self-taught entrepreneur, Sukanto Tanoto still regretted missing out on his early education. Eventually, he enrolled in a business school in Jakarta in the mid-1970s.

Tanoto’s start in business, however, came much earlier. In 1967, he founded his first business, supplying spare parts to Indonesia’s oil and construction industries. Just half a decade later, he was winning contracts for building gas pipelines for multinationals.

A year later, following the 1973 oil crisis, he shifted his attention to plywood. Developing his own plywood mill, however, required a permit from the Suharto regime. As the politicians who issued these permits frequently served as army generals, Tanoto himself was compelled to work with one such general and pitch the mill’s potential as a value-add to the local economy and generator of new jobs. The general was impressed by the idea, and Tanoto’s plywood mill was inaugurated by Suharto himself, and operations commenced in 1975.

Riding on the success of his plywood business, Tanoto later branched out into other industries such as paper, palm oil, and pulp.

Royal Golden Eagle

Initially known as ‘Raja Garuda Mas’, the Royal Golden Eagle was founded by Tanoto in 1973 to manufacture plywood panels. Critically, it also marked Indonesia’s transition from a supplier of raw materials to a value-added processor.

From the time it was launched, the company was set on a trajectory of continuous development and expansion. Today, RGE is the main representative of Sukanto Tanoto’s business interests and the parent company of other businesses founded by him. As a whole, RGE currently employs a staggering 60,000 people and possesses $20 billion worth of assets.

From its headquarters in Singapore, RGE operates in four main business sectors:

  1. Energy resource development
  2. Agriculture
  3. Dissolving wood pulp and viscose staple fibre
  4. Pulp and paper

Pacific Oil & Gas

Pacific Oil & Gas is an independent multinational energy development company with operations in Canada, China, and Indonesia. It is primarily focused on satisfying the need for cleaner energy for developing economies in the Asian region.

Apical Group Limited

Another giant in palm oil production, the Apical Group consists of 10 processing facilities globally and produces an overall annual capacity of over 7.5 million metric tons. Three of its facilities are biodiesel plants, producing an annual capacity of almost 972,500 metric tons combined. Meanwhile, the company’s only kernel crushing plant can produce 340,000 metric tons, annually.

Asia Pacific Resources International Holdings Limited (April)

With pulp production capacity of 2.8 million tons and fine paper production capacity of 820,000 tons per annum, APRIL is one of the world’s largest pulp and paper mills. Operating out of the Riau Province in Indonesia, this pulp and paper giant indirectly employs over 90,000 locals and contributed to nearly 7% of the economic output of the entire province as of 2009.

Bracell Limited

Established in Brazil in 2003, Bracell is currently a leading company in dissolving pulp and specialty cellulose. Supported by its highly advanced factories and sustainable cultivation of eucalyptus, the company manages over 234,000 hectares of land, of which 83,000 hectares are dedicated to environmental preservation. With the employment of nearly 7,000 people in two separate states, Bracell achieves an annual production capacity of 750,000 tons of pulp a year.

Sateri

Sateri is the leading global manufacturer of viscose rayon. Much of its rich and natural fibre is present in skin-friendly hygiene products and comfortable textiles.

Sateri manages four viscose mills, churning out a combined output of 1.1 million metric tons per year. All this production, however, is done without hindering Sateri’s commitment to sustainable practices and protecting the environment. The Sateri mills incorporate European technology to produce viscose purely from dissolving wood pulp to uphold their quality and standard.

Asia Pacific Rayon (APR)

APR has the distinction of being Asia’s first fully integrated producer of viscose rayon. With an annual capacity of just 240,000 …

The Need for Plastic Crate Basket?

A plastic crate basket is the perfect solution for containing and protecting your items. Industrial plastic crates tend to be very sturdy in their design to store and transport items efficiently and safely. The plastics used for these crate baskets are of the highest quality where the material does not break or wear out easily. The plastic used is usually High-Density Polyethylene (HDP) which guarantees strength, structure integrity and reusability.

Performance in the Environment

Plastic crates can be used in transportation by air, land, and sea. The common and expected occurrences include minor and major impacts that are dependent on how secure the plastic crate basket is fastened on that mode of transportation. The plastic is designed to be a heavy-duty product which includes impact absorption and being slightly malleable. The structural integrity of the plastic crate basket will not be compromised easily, as the sturdiness of this material ensures that it will not sustain heavy damages even under rough handling such as tossing or dropping it.

Characteristic of a Good Plastic Crate

The reason why plastic is chosen as a material is due to having multiple resistance to various factors. These resistances include substances like rust, chemicals, bending and organic rot. This ensures that it is a universally safe and convenient product, used to contain and transport items. Plastic crate baskets can be used in various industries where environmental factors vary. A crate used in a warehouse is constantly exposed to construction dust and sand, where a crate used by fishermen is constantly exposed to seawater and presumably wet all the time. Hence, having a wide range of resistance makes it a great product that can cater to various industries. Moreover, the maintenance of these crate baskets is easy to upkeep, as only minimal rinsing and scrubbing is required.

Advantages of Using a Plastic Crate Basket

Lightweight: One of the benefits of using plastic as a material for a crate basket is its lightweight. Plastic crates should not contribute drastically to the overall weight of the entire load. Furthermore, despite being light in weight, the material is capable of taking heavy loads.

Stackable: During the manufacturing process, considerations in design must be taken into account for effective space management. When plastic crates are stackable, this helps in saving space to increase inventory to store and transport more.

Disadvantages of Using a Plastic Crate Basket

Weight limit: While plastic crates baskets can sustain heavy loads, there is a limit lower than other materials like metal. When plastic is overexerted with weights, the material will bend and the structural integrity will be compromised. Prolong exposure to this occurrence will result in the plastic breaking.

Low Melting Point: Plastics tend to have a low melting point which means that they are inefficient when place near sources of high heat. In areas that are very hot or near open flame, it can be dangerous as some plastic products are highly flammable.…

Learn All You Can About Woodwork Here

Woodworking is difficult work. It takes a lot of skill, patience and knowledge to do the job right and create beautiful and useful items. It is also important to follow essential woodworking safety procedures. To learn more about woodworking safety and building sturdy, durable items, keep on reading this article.

Woodworking can be expensive. The actual wood is one of the most expensive parts of any project. The rest of the cost is usually labor, glue and hardware. Sometimes you can save some money by buying a cheaper grade of wood for areas of your project that are not visible. Areas like drawers, backs and bottoms are excellent places to use this wood.

Use stair gauges to guide your crosscuts. Make sure that they are clamped next to the carpenter’s square when you cut. Then mark the notches. An excellent crosscut guide for the circular saw is the result of the combination after you place them on your carpenter’s square, on the exact same tongue.

Clean your saw’s teeth before cutting lumber. To thoroughly clean your saw blade dip a shop rag into a little acetone and wipe the blade thoroughly. Additionally, using a piece of sandpaper that has a fine grit will remove any sap or gumminess from your skill saw’s cutting blades.

When learning a new woodworking technique, practice it over and over again. Repetition is the best way to learn these skills. So find some cheap wood (scrap wood works), and go at it for some time to hone your skills. This will make it so you’re less likely to make mistakes during important projects.

Before practicing advanced woodworking techniques, make sure you’ve got the basics down. Typically those advanced techniques rely on you knowing the basics like the back of your hand. If you don’t, you’ll more than likely find learning to be a very frustrating experience. So start slow, and work up from there.

Remember the quote, “Measure twice, cut once.” When it comes to cutting wood, you always want to ensure you have the right measurements before you begin cutting. Otherwise, you will have to buy more wood, which will cost you a lot of money. You can avoid this dilemma by ensuring proper measurements.

If you are cutting, sanding, or finishing something small, get out your hot glue gun. Affix the item you are working on to the end of a pedestal stick. Hot glue holds better than a clamp, and small objects are impossible to clamp anyway. Just be careful when pulling the piece off to avoid tearing the back side of the wood.

If you are working with wood, it can be very dangerous to have a messy workshop. Do everything you can to keep your work area clean and well-maintained. Every time you are done with a specific tool, out it away before you get another. It may seem like this is time consuming, but you won’t have any reason to clean up later.

As stated in the introduction, working with wood is not a simple thing. You not only have to have the right skills and knowledge about working with the popular material, you also have to practice safety procedures to stay safe. Use the information above to help you work well with wood.…

Top Woodworking Tips Straight From The Pros

While it might not be apparent now, there may come a time when good woodworking skills will be needed in your life. Before practicing advanced woodworking techniques, make sure you’ve got the basics down. Typically those advanced techniques rely on you knowing the basics like the back of your hand. If you don’t, you’ll more than likely find learning to be a very frustrating experience. So start slow, and work up from there.

Be safe when you first start out in woodworking. Wear the proper safety clothing, including goggles. You may feel silly, but you are dealing with sharp tools and splintering wood. These are things that can cause significant injuries to even the most seasoned woodworker. So be safe, and make sure all that are around you are safe too.

Always follow the owner’s manual when using one of your woodworking tools. Not knowing the manual’s recommendations can result in injury or failure of your tool, and you surely do not want either of these to happen to you. If you have not yet read your manuals do so right away!

Learn the basics of sharpening whatever woodworking tools you use personally. Start any work session with cleaning and preventative maintenance. The few moments you put into honing your tools each day will spare you tenfold that time in sanding and repairs. You are also ensuring your personal safety here as well.

Look to video to learn different woodworking techniques. Seeing woodworking in action is a really powerful way to learn. It is, after all, a very hands on skill you’re picking up. Look to YouTube as a start. There are many videos there going over top skills related to woodworking.

You can make a sanding block even better. Cut a small slot about 3/8 of inch deep, a little less than an inch from the outside edge. Run it the entire length of the block. Now the sandpaper will fit into this slot easily, and it will stay in place more securely.

Always clean and sharpen your woodworking tools after you use them. If you do not, the materials and debris left on your tools can make this a less effective cutting tool for your next project. Keeping them cleaned will also extend the life of your tools, saving you money in the long run.

Assemble your tools and make sure they work before you want to start your wood piece. There is nothing more irritating than getting ready to work and realizing that your saw is dull or that the band on your goggles is broken. Before you plan to start, make sure that you’ve remembered to buy the right supplies, and that you’ve checked all your tools.
